How to delete your ByeThings account, what goes, and what is kept

Deleting your ByeThings account
ByeThings is a trading name of Tomo Interactive Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17045564, whose registered office is at 1 Richmond Road, Lytham St. Annes, England, FY8 1PE.
You can delete your account and everything in it yourself, from inside the app. It happens immediately rather than going into a queue.
How to delete it
Three steps, in the app:
Open ByeThings and sign in, if you are not already.
Go to Profile — the last tab.
Scroll to the bottom and choose "Delete my account", then confirm.
If you cannot get into your account
Write to contact@tomointeractive.com from the email address the account uses, and ask us to delete it. We will confirm it is yours, delete it, and reply to say we have. We respond within one month, and in practice much sooner.
There is no charge for this, and you do not have to give a reason.
What is deleted, and what is kept
Deletion cannot be undone and we cannot recover any of it afterwards. Your conversations go for the other person too — a thread is one record shared between two people, so deleting your half deletes theirs.
Deleted immediately: your email address, name, profile picture, address, phone number, listings, listing photographs, conversations, messages and offers.
Kept, with your account no longer attached to them: technical records of scans made — a time, a cost and a one-way fingerprint of an image. They contain nothing that identifies you, and they are how we account for what scanning costs.
Kept where the law requires it: records of a completed transaction may be held for up to six years, for tax and accounting purposes.
Deleting some things without deleting your account
You do not have to delete everything to remove something.
A listing can be taken down at any time from the Listings tab, which removes it and its photographs. Doing so does not use up any allowance, so correcting a mistake costs you nothing.
For anything else — a specific piece of data rather than the whole account — write to contact@tomointeractive.com and say what you want removed. Messages are the one exception: they cannot be deleted individually by either person, because a conversation two strangers rely on to agree terms should not be rewritable afterwards. Deleting your account removes them entirely.
